Nigeria's Lagos-Calabar Coaster Highway Project: Property Owners to Receive N2.75b Compensation

Property owners affected by the demolition exercise for the project are to receive N2.75 billion compensation from the Federal Government.

The project, estimated to cost N15 trillion, connects Lagos to Cross River and passes through several coastal states.

Controversy has arose following the demolition of Landmark Beach Resort, valued at $200 million, to create a right of way for the project.

The project has faced criticism for its lavish spending, with some arguing that it will lead to another Ajaokuta project.

Other notable events include the death of two students in a boat capsize in Kano, a man arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly engaging in a fatal fight, and the purchase of Flying Eagles Defender Frederick from Moses Simon's Kaduna academy.

The Federal Government has approved a salary increase for civil servants, and a man from Oregon, USA, accused of drugging smoothies of his daughter's friends.

A mother of four was hacked to death by a neighbor and his son in Edo.

The Federal Government has opened the Port Harcourt-Aba railway to passengers.

Two members of the cyber crime syndicate have been arrested in Abuja.
