BREAKING: Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Price Again, Now ₦835 per Litre

In another major move to ease the burden on Nigerians, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh cut in the price of petrol, bringing it down to ₦835 per litre. The new price reflects a 3.5% drop from the previous rate of ₦865 per litre just six days ago.

The update was confirmed today, April 16, 2025, and is expected to spark changes at retail filling stations nationwide.

Price Adjustments Across Regions

Filling stations have already begun adjusting their prices. MRS stations in Lagos are now selling at ₦860, with slight variations in other regions: ₦870 in the South-West, ₦880 in the North, and ₦890 across the South-South and South-East.

Ardova (AP) and Heyden stations also revised their pump prices, now offering petrol at ₦865 in Lagos, ₦875 in the South-West, ₦885 in the North, and ₦895 in the South-South and South-East.

Why the Price Drop?

The price slash is reportedly linked to a dip in global crude oil prices and Nigeria’s naira-for-crude policy, which is aimed at reducing reliance on forex while encouraging domestic supply.

Dobblog will continue to monitor developments as the market reacts to this adjustment.
