Chicago High School Teacher Arrested on Charges of Sexual Misconduct Involving Student

A high school teacher in her 30s, has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and assault of a 15 year old boy. 

The parent of the student discovered that Formella had exchanged inappropriate messages with the minor, which led to the discovery of the incident. After receiving the parent's complaint, authorities launched a formal investigation. Formella was arrested as a result of the subsequent investigation, and the Chicago Police Department has placed her on administrative leave while it continues its investigation.

 The school district issued a brief statement in which it emphasized that the students' safety and well being continue to be its top priorities and expressed its deep concern regarding the incident. Officials from the district confirmed that they are conducting an internal policy review and fully cooperating with law enforcement to prevent future incidents. 

Formella has refuted the claims, claiming that the messages were misinterpreted. However, officials from the police have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that additional information will be made public as it becomes available. Parents and members of the community have expressed serious concerns about this case, which has prompted calls for tighter supervision and improved measures to protect students in educational settings.
