Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, a Kogi Central senator who is currently suspended, has made a new accusation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
She claimed that Akpabio had hampered her efforts to stop her suspension. Natasha alleged that Akpabio had petitioned the National Judicial Council (NJC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) against Abuja Federal High Court Justice Obiora Egwuatu.
She asserted that Justice Egwuatu resigned from her case as a result of Akpabio's petition. Justice Egwuatu issued an interim order on March 4 that prevented the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions from proceeding with Akpoti Uduaghan's disciplinary actions.
Nevertheless, the judge later withdrew from the case. Natasha stated to her followers in her hometown of Okehi, Kogi State: "Justice Egwuatu was supposed to sit, take all the pleadings, and decide, which I believe would have been in our favor, which means we would have had the suspension quashed, and I would have resumed duties at the senate."
She was addressing her followers. Okehi is in the state of Kogi. “However, he recused himself from the case as soon as the judge resumed. And why was this? The Senate President wrote a petition against the judge to the NJC and DSS as soon as the case was assigned to him. “And we are all aware of the reason; perhaps the judge refused to play games, and as a result, they refused to expel him.
“There are some good judges, but they get harassed to do bad things,” despite our assertion that the judiciary is corrupt.
