“Luxury Brands Are Playing Us” — Podcaster David Obasi Slams Price Disparity Between China and Africa

Obasi, has sparked a fresh conversation online after calling out international luxury brands for what he described as “price cheating” against African consumers.

In a recent episode of his podcast, Obasi questioned why many luxury items are significantly cheaper in China while Africans are expected to pay two or three times the price for the same products.

“How would you feel if you were in our shoes?” he said. “You can’t sell a designer bag in China for $1,000 and then sell that same bag in Nigeria for $2,500. It makes no sense. What do you think we are?”

Obasi argued that many of these luxury brands benefit from African support and visibility but fail to show fairness in pricing. He warned that if the trend continues, young Africans may begin boycotting these brands.

“We love fashion. We love good things. But don’t insult us. You can’t keep taking our money and giving others discounts,” he added.

DOBBLOG THOUGH WE THINK THIS IS A GOOD MOVE AND WE HOPE A BETTER CHANGE, HAPPEN SOON.
