Natasha and Akpabio are prevented from speaking to the media by the court

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) and Senate President Godswill Akpabio are prohibited from giving interviews to the media while a case involving the female legislator is pending in the Federal High Court in Abuja.

During a hearing on the suit Akpoti-Uduaghan filed to halt the Senate's planned investigation of her, the newly appointed presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyako, issued the directive. Justice Nyako emphasized that until the matter is fully heard and decided, all parties and their legal representatives must refrain from making any public statements or interacting with the media. "None of the parties or their attorneys should give interviews to the press about this case.

There is no social media commentary or live streaming. The judge stated, "There should be no media coverage at all." Justice John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, reassigned the case to Justice Nyako following Justice Obiora Egwuatu's resignation due to bias allegations made by Senate President Akpabio, the third defendant in the case. To prevent the Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions from taking disciplinary action against her, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had approached the court.
