Otti orders an investigation while Fire Service officials turn off their phones

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has directed his Senior Special Assistant on Homeland Security to carry out an investigation to find out what actually led to the inferno that engulfed a two-storey building at 73 Lagos Street Aba, this week.

This is because he was dismayed that the Fire Service officials in Aba's phone numbers were apparently turned off while the building was on fire. Otti, who paid a visit to the victims on Friday, commiserated with them and promised that his administration would assist them and provide temporary accommodations for them.

He praised God for the fact that no lives were lost and emphasized the importance of having a fire extinguisher in every household, directing that from now on, all households will be required to have one. He ordered a thorough investigation to determine whether the fire was caused by natural causes or by the occupants' carelessness and to ascertain why the phone numbers were off during such an emergency. “It’s quite unfortunate that the fire service could not come on time, normally they arrive within ten minutes and I am surprised the way this one turned out.

I have instructed them to conduct a thorough investigation to determine why firefighters' phone numbers were disconnected during the fire outbreak. Otti lashed out, "I need to get a report about the fire service officers and why their phones were turned off and this whole place burned down completely." Mr., the building's landlord, recounted their hardships. Mr. Vincent Uzuegbu, his family, and the building's tenant According to Obinna Obi and his wife, they were asleep at the time the fire started, and they lost everything.
