PHOTOS: NDLEA nabs two brothers, Ghanaian-British student, woman for drug trafficking

Two brothers, John Abugu, 43, and Kenneth Abugu, 31, were detained by agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos, for attempting to smuggle five kilograms of cocaine concealed within the walls of their suitcases.

The two people, who said they were going to India for medical treatment, were caught when NDLEA officers did a thorough search of their luggage and found the drugs hidden inside. In a separate operation on the same day, the MMIA Strategic Command intercepted a 20-year-old Ghanaian-British national, Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, with 36 parcels of Loud a potent cannabis strain weighing 19.40 kilograms.

Osei, who said he is a Computer Science student at East London University, was apprehended during inward passenger clearance on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Bangkok, Thailand.

He told officials that he had recently traveled to Bangkok and picked up the consignment for delivery in Nigeria, where he resides with his parents.

Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives in Kogi State arrested 33-year-old Ngozi Ogili, who was allegedly transporting three kilograms of methamphetamine from Lagos to Abuja.

On March 31, she was stopped in a commercial bus on the Okene-Lokoja highway. A follow-up operation at her intended delivery point in the Apo Mechanic area of Abuja led to the seizure of additional drugs, including Loud and Colorado both synthetic cannabis variants.
